My Kickstarter went live yesterday. Less than five minutes after that, a super-backer backed the ultimate reward tier - the Sagan Base Collection of all six books in ebook, paperback, and audiobook formats - for $200.
And within three hours, I was fully funded. And I still have 28 days to go!
Now, I set an incredibly modest goal - $400 - for this Kickstarter. It was my first, after all, and I had no idea what kind of success I would have. Still, it is very exciting to have it fund so quickly, and it gives me hope for next four weeks. Who knows where the funding will end up? Hopefully, it will continue to grow. And I am sure I will learn a lot, and have plenty to consider for future Kickstarter events.
I hope that YOU or your favorite sci-fi reader will be interested in backing this project. It is the entire G581 series, four novels and two short story anthologies...

Their mission was to build a second home for humanity - but who knows if humanity will survive long enough to reach it? Daniel Medry and a crew of fellow scientists planned to explore a brand-new world potentially ripe for colonisation - but when a man-made virus wipes out most of Earth’s population and leaves the rest infertile, their exploration mission becomes humanity’s only hope for survival.
Alone in deep space, a series of equipment malfunctions occur that might not be accidental - and as the crew struggles for survival, some suspect that one of their own intends to keep them from making planetfall. With time running out, Daniel must stop the saboteur before humanity's last hope for survival is snuffed out in the cold, unforgiving vacuum of space.

In the blink of an eye, Earth went from overpopulation to the brink of annihilation. A deadly contagion has slaughtered billions, society has collapsed, and the Earth is in a state of total crisis. Even worse, the raging virus has followed those who thought they had escaped - leaving the fate of humanity itself hanging in the balance.
For the ragtag survivors of the Mars colony - the importance of mankind's mission to colonize the Red Planet has never been more obvious. However, there's more than just the dangers of a hostile planet to contend with. To keep the spark of humanity alive, each of the colonists will also have to overcome their darkest fears and the worst of their capricious human nature. Not just that, but they must find a way to help Earth as a planet-killer races towards the cradle of humanity.

Earth lies devastated and empty. Over 99.6% of the population have succumbed to the deadly ESH virus. More have perished in the civil wars and anarchy that followed. With humanity on the brink of extinction, most made infertile by the virus, newly-elected President Madeline Chen is forced to make unthinkable choices—robbing millions of their basic human rights to ensure mankind's survival.
But suddenly, mankind faces the opposite problem. A 14-kilometer asteroid is hurtling towards the planet—one larger than the one that wiped out the dinosaurs.
Survival requires escaping off-world before impact, or huddling for safety deep beneath the Earth—and there's only limited space either way. Earth's 14 million survivors have suddenly gone from too few to far too many.

Are you ready for a journey through the end of the world? G581: Plague Tales is an anthology of science fiction stories that will take you on a roller coaster ride of survival, love, and loss in the face of a devastating virus and an asteroid so large it will destroy life on Earth at the end of the 21st century.
In these tales, you'll meet a diverse cast of characters who must navigate their way through a chaotic world filled with illness and disaster. From the scientists struggling to find a cure for the virus, to a group of survivors trying to rebuild society in the aftermath of the asteroid, each story will leave you on the edge of your seat.

In this thrilling conclusion to the G581 series, humanity's second chance becomes a desperate fight for survival...
Six years after establishing a colony on Zarmina's World, the settlers of Sagan Base have built a thriving community.
Children have been born, crops planted, and homes constructed on this alien planet 22 light years from Earth. While still mourning those lost to the ESH virus on Earth and the sabotage aboard the Calypso, the colonists have created a promising future.
But their world is not what it seems. And they are no longer welcome.

G581: Plague Tales II is the second gripping anthology of science fiction stories set in the Gliese 581g universe. In the near future, devastated by a relentless virus and a planet-killing asteroid on a collision course with Earth, humanity teeters on the edge of extinction.
Within these pages, you'll encounter scientists racing against time to find a cure, families torn apart by illness, and survivors facing impossible odds as they attempt to rebuild from the ashes. Each of the dozen short stories offers a unique lens into a fractured world, where resilience, love, and loss define the human experience.
Open the book—and prepare to journey into humanity’s darkest hours… and its fiercest fight to survive.
