Hello and Goodbye

Writer's picture: Christine ShuckChristine Shuck

I just returned, well, over a week ago, from a nine day trip to Barcelona, Naples and Rome. And it was amazing! I have long had visiting Pompeii as a bucket list item, along with photographing my eyeball up close. And I got to do both! We saw amazing sights and I loved nearly every minute of it. But I was missing home something fierce by the end of it.

Nearly every day since I've told myself, "I really should blog, it's been over a month." And every time, without fail, my gut said "no."

There were a host of other things to do. A Shopify store that needed to be finished. A laundry list of things to do around the house stuff (why is it that the operations of this house literally revolve around ME?), Cottage East renovations still to address, financials, and so much more.

And I caught up, mostly. And still wasn't feeling it with a blog post.

I finally realized why.

It's a duplication of efforts. A long form of what I already do short form of on Facebook. I've learned to listen to my gut. It's only taken 50+ years for me to do so.

So, if you follow me on Facebook, you will likely have noticed an uptick on posts on my Facebook author page in the last month or so. I often re-post those same posts as well to the reader group General Malcontent's Grumbles and Scribbles and to my personal Facebook page. Coming over here to cobble it all together, or rehash it, seems like overkill. If I had a ton of followers who weren't on FB, maybe it would be a good idea, then again, perhaps not, because I will be reviving my long-dormant once monthly newsletter [cups hand to ear to listen for a distant cheer or two]. Simple, to the point, and once a month, that's it!

Hopefully, by creating a goal of a once monthly newsletter (January 1st, no sooner) and posting regularly on X and Facebook, you will have everything you need to know and I will be doing it in less time so I can focus on all of the other projects I have going on.

So...

Hello.

And...

Goodbye.

I'll see you around!
